About Us

Michael and I have been married almost eight years now!  Our daughter Vivienne will be three before we know it and came to us through the blessing of adoption.  We always knew adoption was in our future, but we thought we would make that journey several years later and under different circumstances.  In His great mercy, God did not leave us in the mud of our upside-down priorities and expectations, instead bringing us to Vivienne in China last year.  What daily joy that this precious little girl is really here in our home at last!  Our journey to Vivienne changed us in the very best of ways, and moved our hearts for adoption and orphan care.

Before we even completed Vivienne's adoption, we knew we would be back.  It was more than compassion, it was calling.  We would be bringing home another little one.  We thanked God for what He would do in His timing and asked Him for wisdom.  We focused on enjoying Vivienne and settled into the process of teaching her what love, belonging, and trust look like.  She absolutely blossomed before our eyes!  Adoption only begins on gotcha day.  It's a long, long healing journey (yes, "even" for a toddler!), but the difference a family makes is a seriously beautiful thing.  We are grateful God chose to do this our very own home.

Much sooner than expected, we knew it was time to start again.  Anyone ever tell you that His timing is really...really not ours?  When His gentle nudges became a strong shove to "Go!" and by the way this week...The question was no longer when but "Is it yes, or no?"  Okay, yikes, yes!  So different from the way were led into Vivienne's adoption!  I was full of excitement, but terrified about repeating the process so soon!  Adoption is intense, expensive, laborious, and believe me when I say when you say yes to adoption, you are saying yes to the fight as well as the joy.  But don't you worry about that.   These are only mountains before a living God.  It's nothing for the joy ahead.  It's downright negligible compared with needing a mama and daddy.  And it's a wise move to always say yes to God.  So, we are living our yes!
